The Pontus American Express Lounge experience at Stockholm Airport was quite remarkable.
As long as you have an Amex Platinum or Amex Centurion card, you can access the American Express Pontus part of the lounge.
Don’t forget that you can also use your Amex Platinum or Centurion cards to access the Fast Track Security lane at this airport!
The Location
The official directions from the Amex website are:
- After the Security Checkpoint, between the A and F Piers, take the stairs across from Oak Cafe up to the entrance on the Mezzanine Level.)
However, these don’t actually tell you where to go after security.
So what worked for us was to turn right after the security check and then after about 100m, you see the signs pointing to the lounge. Then you can take the stairs up.
Lounge Dining
The lounge itself offers table service and as you can see below, this is the menu when I was there in late February. It was a dinner menu.
From what I gather, the menu does change regularly.
I did not take pictures of all the sides, but here is the main – I went for the sauteed venison with mushroom, potatoes and lingon berries.
The venison was cooked just right and the sauce and mushrooms were delicious. The potatoes were cooked nicely, though a bit lacking in flavour.
Drinks
In terms of drinks, you can get a selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
In conclusion, this was an excellent addition to what would have otherwise been a bland experience at Stockholm Airport. If you’re ever here, I would definitely recommend you give it a go. You can be in and out within 15-20 mins as the service is quick and efficient. Not to mention the food is delicious and… complimentary. Highly recommended!
